ToyGuard
The Technical Bit
ToyGuard uses Byotrol technology. This patented formulation utilises principles of physics, chemistry and biology and has been tested and proven to have efficacy against harmful pathogens, spores and algae. This makes it a very safe alternative to Sodium hypochlorite and other harsh chemicals. ToyGuard is a water-based solution that incorporates fast acting biocides trapped in a polymer spine. When applied, the polymer forms a coating made up of a series of microscopic spikes that stick to exposed surfaces to create extreme differences in surface tension affecting the ability of micro organisms (and dirt) to stick. Because ToyGuard doesn’t use chlorine, acids or oxidisers it is safer to children, animals, delicate surfaces and the environment in general. In fact, ToyGuard can be used on any surface that would not be harmed by exposure to water.
We put two identical ducks in the bath, but first sprayed one with ToyGuard Sanitiser. We then gave them to Katie (our Chief Testing Engineer) to play with in the bath for six months. The photo shows the inside of the ducks. There is no algae growth on the treated duck.
